    It's far too relative.

Respectable to someone like Jmezz would be 315 x 1
Respectable to someone like BDR or GT would be 600 x1

I would say if you can pull 405 for 2 or more reps that pretty good and better than 99.99999% of people.

Breaking the 500lb barrier raw is baller status.

Breaking the 600lb barrier raw is BO$$ status.

I'm under 200 but still humbled at these deadlift numbers being thrown around.

    If it's a non-powerlifter then I'm very impressed with 585.

for the average gym rat I'd say 500 is "respectable" but its certainly not BIG BALLIN

I think anything over 400 is bad ass. This considering most people in the gym don't deadlift and most girls in the gym get wet when you say anything over 300lbs

I also think it matters who you are asking. Asking other plers/fitness/bb guys you'll get numbers like this.

Go DL 500+ at the local 24hr and you'll be RICK RO$$ to most everyone there.

Well I've seen gym rats deadlift 500+ and it's very respectable.

However.. if you are using steroids, have knowledge of training and eating right, workout consistently for years, are above 215 pounds, then 650ish+ is respectable.

Therein lies the difference. A lot of gym rats really have no idea what they're doing. Most people here do.

Pulled what I believe was 495 (5 plates each side) for a few reps at the University gym and people looked at me like I was a nut bag. They actually stared. It was pretty funny.

There are dudes there much bigger than me, but even most that are bigger don't really DL.

well I believe 500 is an attainable goal for damn near everyone regardless of weight, if you work at it enough.

but yeah me and my training partners are the only people at my gym who deadlift at all and people think 405 is some big weight so its whateva

I deadlifted 500 with like 2 years of lifting and this was at 215 or so bodyweight while dieting the entire time on zero carbs. It's very attainable for just about anybody.

400+ is respectable. Never seen anyone deadlift more than 3 plates.

Depends on the build I think....

For a regular looking dude I'd be impressed with 315.
