I found a couple of gyms near me, one is a little hole-in-the-wall place that has Boxing and Muay Thai, and it's $60/mo. The other one's between $80 and $100/mo depending on your contract commitment, and it teaches MMA, boxing, kickboxing, and bjj. But holy shit at the price.

    Are these prices normal?

It's tough to say because like everything, alot will depend on your location. Location aside, MMA gyms in my area do seem to run about $100-$150 per month for training.

I pay 75 for an "as much as you want to come" bjj gym. No weights, no nothing, but if I wanted to I could roll there 5 days a week.

EDIT: That's with a "family discount" because my dad goes as well.

$100-$150 a month here in japan. unlimited access to all their classes; however, no weights.

No weights far as I know. If they did, I'd just go there instead of a normal gym.

Then again, if anybody could be so kind as to point me to a cheap place to get some weights, I'll just buy the stuff for home. From what I've seen, a dumbell set alone is going to cost me over a grand though.

I might try the hole in the wall place. If the instructors seem legit then you might be better off.

Higher price doesn't always mean better quality.

What kind of dumbell set is costing you over a grand?

Even this bowflex one is 400 only... and there's alot cheaper choices.
