Something that would cost or could cost less than $10,000 from between about 1997 and 2004.

Also Manual would be preferable :o

Thinking of selling my mustang to get something more useful/better in the snow :wtc:

Fuck a manual... you don't need a manual.

Want something good in snow? Grab a GMT360 (Trailblazer/Envoy), they're awesome in snow.

Automatics are for pussies and women :greddy:

But seriously, automatic is fucking boring and I lose my concentration on the road/get lazy in an automatic.

Then you suck at driving. You should be concentrating regardless what transmission is in the vehicle you're driving.

I have a Infiniti QX4 (2001), love it, does fine in the snow.

Trailblazer's MPG sucks balls. Get one with a v8 if you do get one because the I6 gets like 0.5mpg better in the real world.

I dont think my parent's trail blazer saw a tank with over 18mpg and the 3.5yr average was 15.

Grand may be an option if I can find one that's cheap enough/not in bad condition. I'm not a huge fan of classic or sport.

I dont see why the year matters...

I just bought a 4runner and I'm pretty happy with it, warms up a hell of alot faster than my cummins did. Plus those yota's last forever!

I'm in Alberta so I know what your winter is like lol

It really depends on gearing. I've had both the I6 and the V8 in the GMT360s I've owned (I've had 5 of them) and I've had 20-21 MPG highway in an I6 with the 3.42 gears. Bump up to 3.73 or 4.10 and you're going to get hurt in a big way.

And don't kid yourself, a Jeep Grand Cherokee/Explorer/Durango are no better on gas.

You have to have a manual transmission?

Are a lot of folks like this?

Is this for off roading purposes? Are you going to go rock crawling?

I guess I just don't understand it. Is it an age thing? Are you cooler if you have a manual transmission over an automatic? Is this like an inch added to the 5" in your pants?

I'm calling BS on your boring automatic excuse.

With out the 4.10 the I6 feels like its struggling to move the 4500lb brick. :dunno:

    It's a driving preference.

Short of a tow vehicle, I will never own an auto. I dont think it makes me cooler, I simply enjoy driving manuals. So instead of attacking people's preferences, how about being a productive, non biggot.

Jeep Cherokee, especially if price is a consideration.

Probably the best thing you can buy for under 4k, very reliable, easy to work on.

Not even close. Like I said I've owned 5 different GMT360s, the first of which was an I6 with the 4.10s. Two others have been I6es with 3.42s and they feel FINE. Yeah, the 4.10s feel barely faster when you listen to the butt-dyno, but if you're the kind of fag that worries about gas mileage when buying a truck or SUV they'll disappoint you.

Sounds like the real problem here is OT has a bunch of sackriders on it who will bash anything GM in favor of a Jeep or a rice burner. Jeeps are nice, but they're no nicer than a GMT360 and usually cost more from what I've found.

You're a feg who completely misinterpreted my stance and is overly defensive about someone's opinion.

Trail Blazer is a good SUV for what it is, but if you want it to feel like it can move and/or you want to tow with it you better get the 4.10's with the I6. So I said you minus whale get a v8. You're talking about ~200whp on a 4500lb vehicle, it needs all the help it can get.
