GUN What's a good O/U shotgun to start out with?

Discussion in 'On Topic' started by Market Garden, Oct 5, 2009.

  1. Something like this would be sweet, but I really don't want to spend almost $3k on an O/U if I can get something decent for less. Basically it would be for various trap/skeet style shootings at my local shotgun range.

I am happy in my pants when I think about a gun like this, but sad in my wallet:

They're not usually the type to keep track of how many hundreds of boxes of shells they've put through the gun.

You can get decent Browning and Beretta O/U shotguns in the $1500 range. They wont have all the cool engraving and shit like that, but will shoot more than straight enough and handle very nicely.

I had a Beretta for some time and it was a beautiful gun and shot great. I liked it, but decided to go semi-auto instead for more versatility and traded it in for a Benelli, but it was a very nice gun for less than $1500 at the time.
