It will be used on a .223 ar build (not mine) at 100 yds. 100 bucks or less. :x:

3x9 or higher, preferably 45mm or less

i have an optronics 6.5x24-40 (or something like that) w/illuminated mildot recticle that i got from midwayusa for like $80 w/$10 rebate. it is mounted on a .223 bull barrel ar upper. i have never shot either, so i can't tell you how good it is. i am still a n00b when it comes to optics so my opinion on the matter won't count for much.

i can tell you though, my bushnell elite 3200 3x9-40 mounted on my 10/22 is wonderful.

they're usually low powered or fixed powered, might lack a front bell, and some have their reticle tailored to shotgun/muzzleloader trajectories.

I got a Simmons 6.5-20x44 for $150. For the money, it's pretty decent. Though after shooting a friends AR with a Leupold, I can definately see why people are willing to shell out the extra cash for a high-end scope.

I was pleasantly surprised at how clear and bright the glass was on the NIKON Prostaff.
