not too small but maybe a 3-4" blade. id prefer rubber grips but i cant find an assisted opener with rubber grips ANYWHERE. so ive given that up. but whats a pretty solid one for everyday use? no serrated edge or anything

The blur is a decent knife. I'm not sure what steel they're using the blurs, I believe it was 440A, which isn't all that great for edge retension. I believe they made a few in s30v, but I'm not certain.

Personally, I like the avalanche a lot more than the blur. Comes in s30v and is g10 handled, which I prefer over the aluminum and tac inserts on the blur.

g10 is a fiberglass epoxy resin. Really durable, grippy and wears extremely well.

I like g-10 on all of my hard use knives.

I have owned alot of Kershaws, for the past 4 years, I daily carried a whirlwind blackout- Good cheap and fast. I switched to a blur a few months back, and I have nothing but GREAT thigns to say about this knife. I picked it up at a gun show for $50 NIB. I love the handle, and like the larger/sturdier blade over the blackouots.

You can get your choice of blade styles too

I have a couple of Kershaws and I'm NOT impressed. The assist open gets weak after a couple months of heavy use.

Stick with Spyderco or if you have the money Benchmade.
