I'm planning on buying a sniper rifle, but I dunno what to buy.

I will be shooting around and the local target range, etc.

So what's a good one, that lasts long and is very accurate, etc. It needs to be affordable too, I can't spend 1000 dollars on just one gun.

    Thanks!

Unless you're sniping someone, it's not a "sniper rifle".

Try a Desert Eagle .50AE, I heard they're really good sniper rifles.

Well I've seen Remington 700 ADL's for less than 350 dollars with the synthetic stock. That in .308 or .30-06 would probably work great, and you could get milsurp ammo for cheap.

    milsurp ammo??? Um, no.

He doesn't even want to spend 1000 dollars for the rifle and he wants "a good one, that lasts long and is very accurate". Those two things don't really go well together.

Buy a Savage 110/10P in .308. Spend $400 on a Tasco Super Sniper 10x mildot and $150 on rings and a base. Then you will have a rifle that will shoot better than you can for under $1000.

I want a .22-250 so I can have it reamed or re-barreled to a .22-250 Ackley Improved. The Savage 112s or Remington varmint rifles are lookin pretty good right now :hs:

What's wrong with something like this: http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/A308AC__Australian_Defence_Industries__308.html

If he's trying to do this cheaply, wouldnt ammo like that save him a lot more money than the "name brand" stuff that costs 1$+ per shot?

Is the 700 ADL not a good rifle either? :dunno:

True, but if he's on a budget, spending 1$+ per round will get really expensive really quick, especially if he's target shooting :o

The time he spent posting this thread could have been used polishing up on his bowstaff skills.
