Want something cheap new/used to keep in a compartment in my truck, something under $300 that way if my truck is broken into & it's stolen I won't be all that upset. I know there aren't very many decent handguns for under that price, but I was thinking of some kind of revolver since those tend to be a bit cheaper than semi-autos, though I know next to nothing about revolvers. Any ideas?

If you're going to keep it in your car then you should get a little vehicle gun safe; it's the responsible thing to do.

I don't care so much about the price of the gun stolen, it's that the gun gets stolen at all. I never leave a weapon unattended in a vehicle just for that reason. I would hate it if someone stole my car and got a weapon out of it.

I don't have kids, kids are never in my vehicle. Having to bust out a key or dial in a combination makes having the gun almost pointless doesn't it?

Take it out when you're driving, lock it up if and when you leave it. :dunno: It's not about kids it's about the weapon not being stolen.

So you want to supply more guns to the people you are trying to protect yourself from?

since they've already broken into the vehicle, a gun safe isn't going to do much. I keep my CZ-52 in the jeep sometimes simply because i'm too lazy and it's inconvienient to bring it from the house to the jeep all the time.

That's what I want for my Heep for a truck gun. It'd be locked up.. but I wouldn't really care if it got stolen..

oh, and it's not like a lot of people know how to get ahold of 7.62x25 ammo either, usually only over the interweb

but loaded with magsafe and surplus fmj alternating, it's a formidable car weapon, be it car vs car, or car to person out side.
