what're the leanest cuts of beef?

    Go to costco and get Top Round. It is real cheap.

    top sirloin and top round are pretty lean

    london broil's pretty lean and is a better cut of top round. top round is more of a breakfast steak.

    eye of round is the leanest but anything with round or loin is also very lean.

    I had stuffed flank steaks for dinner this past thursday. :drool: My dad's made friends with a butcher at a local dominicks and she marks everything way down for him.

    Anything with the word loin in it will be lean.

    Actually most red meat is very low in saturated fat. Plus you can trim a lot of the fat off before cooking it. I know when smoking a brisket I try and trim the inch fat cap down to a 1/4 inch or so. Cook it fatside down for about 12 hours and the fat disappears.

    Of course realize with red meat you do want mabling of the meat which helps prevent the meat from drying up.
