I'm working on an album cover for a digital release for a local artist. Let me know what you guys think of the pics and the semi-end result. The semi-end result is just that because I'm missing a picture of a microphone for the lower left square.

the pics are meh, but the first album cover actually doesn't look too bad. Know what kind of CD covers are out there, it can pass. :dunno:

I like your concept, but i would have ironed that sheet before using it for a backdrop. Also the guitar pic in top left should be more centered. I would try for a different shot in the bottom center of the grid, it seems too uniform that way you have it now, but that's just my opinion.

The lighting in the first pic is not kind to her chin (no pun intended), but it works ok when PP'd for the cover. The rest of the pics do nothing for me either without being in the mosaic.

Yeah I was trying to do something with PP to maybe just make it all one color...

I totally should've ironed the sheet but I just moved into my place and I can't find my iron... Guess I'll have to do some PP magic then.

    Whats wrong with zepplin?:squint:

    Not what I was asking...

I think you need more pictures of her in the album cover. You used one picture twice and another picture three times, just changing the color.

unironed sheet: looks great. goes with the raw feeling. this is not a slickly produced effort.

repetitious picture: looks great. warhol-ish. work better than a bunch of unrelated shots of her, ransom-note style.

I would just ps out the skin on her chin. Remove some of those divots/craters. You're good to go.

Maybe. The 2nd row 1st and 3rd pics kinda look out of place because they arent as monotone. I like the uniformity of using the same pic with the theme "She is everywhere", I just rotated and flipped them in a whimsical manner.

This is just a quick little alternative (not perfectly aligned) because I'm bored.

Ahh, poor, poor aCab. I can hear the pics of his RX-8 being removed as i type...

Individually, the pics you took are nothing special. In this case, that's perfectly fine, because they're not going to be used individually. The wrinkled sheet behind the guitar looks great when used in context.

From a marketing standpoint, with no knowledge of the music contained within, i'm not sure i'd take more than a glance at that cd if i saw it sitting on a rack. That's just subjective though. Overall it's got a very 70's feel to it, which in this day and age might make it stand out just enough to get the second look, a flip to the back to see what the songs are called, and perhaps a quick scan under the barcode thing to give it a listen.
