    i took the advice of some and i customized my own dell with one of the coupon offers in fatwallet, 25% off all inspiron $999 and over.

    this is $843.67 total. what do you guys think? thanks!! :hs:

    are you using it on battery frequently? If so, upgrade to the 85w/hr battery. Personally, I'd alos spend the extra to upgrade to a faster 7200rpm hard drive. Also, don't expect to be able to do much in the way of gaming, the onboard video won't fare well.

    Even on a laptop I would go with a bigger screen then that.

    won't the 7200rpm drive cause a bigger battery drain?

    if you plan on trying to play any games, i'd recommend going for the nvidia graphics. i think they are available on the 14" and 17" dell inspiron laptops, but not on the current 15". i went with a refurbished 15" because i didn't feel like spending $300 more just for the XPS with same specs.
