I'm 6'2" 230 lbs.....a pic of how I look is below. Now obviously I don't have any huge muscle mass....Most of my weight is due to my fucking thick ass bones....(38 waist and that's because thats how wide my hips are without fat)

    I'm benching 225
    deadlifting 275
squatting around 275-315 depending on how low I go....

I'm truly torn with which angle to take that's why I ask.

would you start cutting fat off then building muscle slowly
or would you just bulk up and cut the fat later....obviously if I lift hard for another six months....I would hopefully have some ok mass gains. (been lifting for 3 months steady now) (been lifting on an off for the past 2 years but could never get into it, now im addicted.

cut. cut. cut. I would think with that physique you could lose weight while gaining muscle mass and look and feel better.

The thick bones thing is bullshit, call a spade a spade, man.

Your bench and deadlift seem awfully close...

I would suggest getting a stopwatch and timing your rest periods while lifting, try to keep them under 2 minutes and keep a sweat going, add 15 minutes of cardio at the end, and eat clean. If you lose fat, great, if you gain muscle, great, just keep lifting...and quit blaming your bones.

I was thinking the same, granted at the same time, If I lift hard and eat clean......wouldnt the added muscle mass burn more calories and eventually make my fat ratios go down?

oh no no, i'm not trying to blame my bones or anything....i hear you on all of that....I have some fat....I need to ditch.....

what does keeping rest periods under 2 minutes do? does that make it more cardio based? i usually rest around 3 minutes and i feel like im able to lift more etc.

You'll find that on average, you can "catch your breath" in about two minutes, and the weights you use won't drop much, if at all. I suggest you try it for two weeks and see what you think. If nothing else, the stopwatch keeps you accountable for your rest time. You'll be shocked to find out how long you were actually resting when you time your whole workout from start to finish...

ill take that into consideration...im planning on adding sprints and shit to my workout (get home, walk to the park, do random number of sprints as fast as i can) so I need a stopwatch anyways to monitor that.

yes it would, thats what I have been doing.

It may seem like you are not "dropping" the pounds insanely, you will most likely...like me, lose as much fat as you gain muscle.

I waxed my chest and stomach once, I vowed to never do that again, I would rather be hairy then do that shit again. I bled "40 year old virgin style"

Nothing wrong with my "blue steel" look lol...that look is on my face cause i was trying to see the lcd of the camera and the mirror at the same time....
