i have applecare on my MBP.

i've been problems with my backlight being uneven lately, so i was going to bring it in.

then a few days ago, i'm getting out of my car and the strap on my bag broke, and the bag, with the computer in it, took a fall.

there's now a dent - not horrible, but an obvious drop - on the bottom half of the case at a corner. it has had no effect on the computer's running at all - just a cosmetic thing.

    does this void applecare?

if so, what would you do? i looked into replacement bottom cases, but they're $200 minimum and very difficult to install, or $300+ to have someone else fix.

    what do you think?

It was an honest mistake if they do not do anything for you, you can report it to http://consumerist.com

    That always helps

cosmetic or not, he did drop it and he did dent it....
that's reason enough to void the applecare regardless if it did anything unfortunately... how can he prove the drop didn't affect XXXXXXXX in the long run?
