My buddy has asked me to help pick out/install a system in his ZX2.

He already has an "ok" pair of kenwood 6x9s.

    He will need:

    a decent HU
a set of decent components (i think i found some already..)
    a 4 channel amp
    a 2 channel amp
    a decent sub (or pair)

I'm leaving out $75 for RCAs and speakerwire (i may have some laying around)

so you really have $925 or so to play with.

    GO! :)

Well I would spend around 150 dollars on the headunit. Then spend around 300 on a nice component set. Then around 200 on a nice subwoofer. Then spend around 150 on a 4ch amplifier, and 150 or so on a 2ch amplifier for your subwoofer.

It really depends on what he wants though. If he wants a ton of bass, take some of the money from the speakers and spend it on the sub and its amplifier, etc.

He doesn't listen to a whole lot of bass but he wants to have enough for when he does.

I have the components on the top of this page:
    http://thezeb.com/caraudio/specials_speakers.html

    they are CDT CL-61a's

they sound freakin' awesome (especially for $150--gotta love it when the factory fucks up :fawk: )

i was really hoping someone would reccomend other brands or models...

    as of now:

    $1000
    - 75 for wiring
    - 150 for CDT components
    ---------
    $ 775 left!
