    What would WMD lean towards?
I'm reading that the 870 and 590 go toe to toe and it's matter of preference for control and handling...

This will be home defence, possibly modding for entertainment.

  2. Realistically, the 870 or 590 would be good. There is more 870 love here though.

As to what model to get, just get one with a standard style stock. You don't need collapsible or folding stocks. They suck.

"you suckers can go fishing, if you want, i'm going to shoot me some grub!"
although, a folding stock might be a good idea to add on to that...

You don't need a heat shield.

I have the 870 tactical w/ folding stock... I'm very satisfied with it, although I never really shoot it w/ the stock folded up, so a standard stock would probably be fine (and cheaper)...

I just bought a 870 tactical. Came with ghost ring sights, an extension tube for 7 shots, and a really cool scary looking "tactical choke tube" that extends beyond the bbl. I bought a ATI stock for it, and have already installed a pistol grip forend. Just need to figure out what kind of light I want on it.

Waiting for yar to come tell you all your choices are gay. I agree with that. Quit looking at dumb shit like pistol grips and heat shields.

They just call it a "tactical choke". I thought they just misspelled "tacticool" because it isn't much of a choke. It does, however, look cool, and since the barrel is threaded, I can add a choke of my choosing if I want to.

No, the front grip is functional. It's for home protection, and I need shooters of all sizes in the house able to cycle the action and keep a grip on the gun easily. This ain't for skeet shootin'.
