GUN What would be a good brand of ammo for an M1A?

    Not too pricey, but not total crap :), going to be used for target shooting for fun, not competition or anything.

    guess that rules out the federal match stuff.

    portugese surplus battlepacks would be my recommendation. it's not that expensive, but still provides great accuracy for the price.

    Port surplus, Australian surplus, Hirtenberger are all great.

    ADI .308 can be found at ammoman or other places.

    I've been getting MOA consistently out of the Australian surplus out of my M1A. However its been clogging up the gas system like crazy :hs: (hoping to pick up an adjustable gas system for the M1A and AR :x: ). I'd stay away from Indian surplus I've heard of overcharges and loose bullets and crappy primers.

    Yes very good point. Several falfiles guys have blown up FALs due to overcharged Indian surplus :eek4:
