To make this PC decent? It sits around doing nothing and I'd lke to be able to jump on and mostly play games against my brother and friends over the net.
Common games are, CSS, BF2 & CoH.

    Current specs are:

    Intel® Pentium® D Processor 805 (2.66GHz 2x1MB L2 cache 800MHz FSB)
    1028MB DDRII-SDRAM 533MHz
    Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200
    160GB S-ATA hard drive (7200 RPM)

I REALLY need to get a new Video Card, but I don't know what. I don't want to blow $100s on this, so can you recommend me one that will be able to play those games posted above?

I'd bump to 2gb ram and a new video card. Depending on your budget, you have a pretty wide range of options.

http://www.legitreviews.com/article/384/1/ an article my buddy wrote for the nvidia 7900GS

next step down would be the 7600GT... looks like it's just under $150 at newegg.

    Thanks for the reply. :wavey:

It originally had 512, but I put in another stick of 512 I had laying around the other day. I'm still looking for a video card. I keep getting told the 7900GS is the way to go, but they all seem to be PCIe? I only have AGP.
Would there be a major difference between the 7900GS and 7600GT? I'm not planning to spending huge amounts of money.

hmmm, AGP, eh? what kind of motherboard is it?

Obviously, with either card, you'll see an improvement over integrated graphics. Let me check with my buddy and see what he says on AGP cards and I'll hit you back here.

    Cheers.

I think I may consider spending less now, so probably either a 7600GS or a X1600 (512MB version).

It's really just something I want to play games, I'm not trying to turn the PC into a monster.

BTW I have no clue what motherboard it is :o
