What were you doing when you made your best gains?

    When I make gains it's all or nothing. I'll plateau for a while, then I'll make big size/strength gains. I can't really figure out if it's something I'm doing or just the way my body works. Sleep seems to be a big factor for me.

    Anyways, what kind of diet/training frequency/sleep habits/etc. do you have when you make above average progress?

    when i stopped messing with isolated workouts and started doing compound stuff

    when I stopped the cutting/bulking bandwagon...

    when I realized that strength != size

    when I realized that size != strength

    when I realized that knowledge != strength

    when I realized that strength != knowledge

    when I realized that knowledge != size

    when I cut out almost all alcohol...

    when I started focusing on calorie dense foods... (OMGHI2U steel cut oats ! !)

    when I switched from a expensive protein shake to a cheap one..

    when I put a emphasis on preworkout nutrition...

    when I increased creatine intake...

    when I increased EFA intake...

    when I increased water intake...

    when I increased extreme stretching...

    when I increased total daily protein intake to around 2g per lb of bodyweight...

    when I stopped listening to people just because they were big, and started listening to people because they were making noticable progress...

    when I started taking advice from "natural" guys who are big and lean...

    when I started taking advice from older guys that looked like they were in the best shape of their life...

    when I started combining legpress AND squats...

    when I started training abs again after neglecting them...

    I made some of my best gains when I was drinking 6 days a week :cool:

    Not that I recommend that to anyone though

    Eating everything I could get my hands on, getting enough sleep, and taking prohormones. Although not all at the same time.

    Oh, and lifting like a goddamn beastman motherfucker at the gym.

    I only ever did 4 weeks of S1+ I felt absolutely great while on it though, I had tons more energy, much better mood, weights that felt heavy before felt a lot lighter, etc.

    Can't wait to get on some real shit.

    I was enjoying my daily excercise, and not weighing myself and obsessing about it. Just got into the groove..

    I was natural at 185, just did what I knew to do, weighed myself several months later after someone said I was looking big, and I was 210. Just sort of happened i guess. Eating right, lifting hard, etc.

    i was not listening to other people or internet gurus...thats for sure. I found the biggest BB'er in the gym and trained with him for a few years. Funny real simple equation too...ate...slept...trained.

    my split was:
    monday -chest/shoulders/tri
    wed -back/bi
    friday -legs

    i smoked before i got to the gym
    i smoked after my workout
    i ate 7-11 hot dogs as post workout nutrition
    i rarely ate breakfast

    i made great gains for 6 months

    KISS keep it simple stupid.

    Its entertaining to say the least to watch these people blow retarded amounts of money on bullshit supps, and whatever the new Fand N hottness is.
