I found the problem, pushrods.
bowtie in front.
Bowtie lasted 180,000 miles and was not cared for properly.
I know damn pushrods. My LT5 is easier to work on
Block is fine.
someone put the intake on backwards
mousing indicates long term leakage. check coolant for oil.
#7 had a leak and also a small crack in the head up by port #1.
doesn't your cobra only run a high 12?
Its only my DD, sorry I cant mod it to your liking.
Do 4.10s, pullies, and an x-pipe on a LT1 and run 12.9s... Oh wait
clearly the problem is it wasn't an lt5
I'm with this guy
Whatever the case, don't feel bad. I drove over a slightly sunken manhole two weeks ago and cracked one of my suspension control arms.
My failure was worse, which led to this
Your failure led to an engine? I don't get it.
engine = fucked
fucked engine = fail
I can has roller block??
Depends, did the Camaro steal a ford 8.8 first to actually run rubber?
Did you get a nice new replacement made in Mexico toting tolerances on par with a '75 AMC pacer? 100,000 mile used B headed long bloacks are in better shape.
Taking a guess here, looks like your intake manifold and/or part of a head gasket rotted away and perhaps finally blew, causing coolant to go everywhere in the top of your block? Hot coolant under pressure will leak out in the weakest area of the seal (i.e. obvious - thermal expansion).
Were you driving when it happened? Loud pop, sudden loss of power, steam escaping from under hood, water/coolant all over engine bay? Just curious as to what the experience was that lead up to the photos.
Bought a 95 shitbox Z28 for 500 bucks. Blown head gasket. Started and ran. Drove it onto the trailer. No coolant in oil pan, just coolant in the V of the block and in the combustion chamber. Car came with head new gaskets and intake manifold gaskets.
So far, replaced with a set of heads from a customers car (he abandoned them). Replaced opti and water pump. Used lifters from a low mile LS6 I did a head/cam package on. Replaced pushrods.
Shitty part of the car, is the interior. It was a Texas DPS seizure, was a drug runners car and the carpet was all cut up from the search. Floor has holes in the back seat to stash drugs. Which I have welded up. Have new carpet sitting in a box and new seats to go in. Have maybe 1,100 in the car and parts so far for a winter beater.
I was on beat up street tires for that run....
Notice how clean the valley and timing cover is on that engine Didnt even make it off the lift before it was fucked.. Got another one for free tho
