I need to know more about you. Weight, height, how long you have been lifting etc... A little background would go a long way.

What are your lifting numbers? What are your weak points? What kind of routine have you used in the past if any? How's your endurance?

Use christopher's base routine if you're just starting out. I've never used it myself, but I've only heard good things from those that have.

You definately need to work on gaining a base. A lot of people recommend Christopher's routine that is in the archives in the fitness and nutrition forum. Go to bodybuilding.com and read up. There are also beginner programs there as well.

Once you find a program you think you like post here or pm me and we'll help you out.

I've been using it a week now, it's an extremely difficult routine if you push yourself hard, but on paper it looks perfect for building a base for a fighter.

Yeah, it seems like if you are just new to lifting then building a good foundation of muscle is what you want to do (by just doing a simple routine and adding weight until you aren't improving anymore... and this means stick with it for a long time). After you do that, THEN think about going to more complicated routines.

    echoed.

I've been on the 'christophers' base builder since may and have seen awesome progress.
