Right now it's on shared, but since the video is being hosted should I worry about getting dedicated? Obviously bandwidth is another issue but I can expand that if needed.

Do you plan on actually getting "big"? Like 2girls1cup.com? (even though i doubt that'll happen, just sayin')

Or will it remain kind of small? :dunno:

if you have the extra money, i'd say dedicated so you're pretty much in total control. if you're broke, stick with shared

Right now money is tight, but I'm asking if I should invest in dedicated in case a wave of hits comes in. I assume 2g1c is on dedicated?

yes, it's on a private unmetered rack.

what does your current shared plan offer? are they a nazi host? (ie., are they hostgator? :p) - some hosts will suspend your account on shared if it causes server load to go up too high, while others won't.

if you've posted it on here a few places & on other forums, it might blow up. you'd notice if it was going to start blowing up within a few days. but.. if you're not getting more than 2-3,000 uniques/day then I'd not get a dedi if money is tight. :dunno:

unless you intend to put ads up on the site.

If you are quite sure you would be getting a decent traffic and your recent hosting plan ( Shared hosting ) will not be sufficient to tackle traffic then i will suggest you to go for VPS rather then going for Dedicated which is costly as compare to VPS.
As you have video on your site which can eat up most of your bandwidth and may overload the hostign sever, so before your current host suspend your account try to get a reliable host which will provide you a good bandwidth with high server configuration at reasonable rete.
If you are really looking for some, then i would like to render our service :)
We have hosting plans from Shared, Reseller, VPS, Semi-Dedicated and Dedicated at affordable price.
Please have a look at webhosting.UK.com and have a look for what we offer you.
We do have 30 day moneyback guarantee so in case if you are not satisfied with our service then you can claim full refund :)

And for the record, 2g1c isn't totally dedicated. The video itself is hosted on an unmetered plan (Which is very cheap, btw), but the site is indeed on a rackmount server. The server isn't dedicated to just this site though.
