I want to file away part of my XD's "beaver tail". What tool would be best?
I don't know how much you want to remove but you could try a bastard file or a dremel with some sort of sanding attachment.
Check an XD forum to see if anyone else is doing it and if there is an EDU thread about it.
I know people are doing that with their full size M&Ps on the M&P forums.
I saw a picture of someone who did a similiar thing (but not sure which forum I saw it at) and XD is solid at beavertail.
A file to file something? no wai!
Srsly, who is the chick in your av, and where are her other pictures?
fine grit sandpaper and a coarser file for the first run
Time to start taking layers off of the beavertail.
Another name for Hey Zuess?
Now answer my question.
It's the eek4 girl
sauder gun ... sandpaper
that never occured to me
okay, so wait. Why do you want to sand the beavertail off your XD?
Looks nice, lees to snag.. It's $35 to have professionally done..
here's a M&P w/ the tail taken off..
Pretty simple... the gun isn't perfect straight from the factory.
So you're saying it clashes with the rust?

Apparently somewhat a common problem with XD. Common enough for Bowie Tactical Concepts to offer this service. I didn't take off as much as that person on that thread, maybe 1/3 of what he took off.
