I am looking to buy a new monitor and wondering from a photography editing POV, what are some specs to look for? What are some reccomendations. I am looking for 24 preferred.

I always go Samsung. But only because I'm comfortable with buying them after owning a couple before. I've got/had a 19" SyncMaster 913N, 26" HDTV and now my new 24" SyncMaster 245B.

All are great, but the colour on this 24" is godly. The viewing angle is also very good.

Yeah it is. But the viewing angle is fine for sitting infront of it or for people sitting around you.

From what I can tell, only the vertical presents a small issue.
