Hmm... I'd take the Prelude simply because the Impala is ugly, IMO. On the more logical side, the Impala has little if any aftermarket support, and the 'Lude has a HUGE aftermarket.

Plus, honestly, I see far less Preludes than Impalas.

impalas have a very large after market and w/ cams and pulleys can run 11-12s 1/4 miles. 5000 miles is basically new, and save 2 grand.

my last impala had a fucking awesome interior, stock it came w/ carbon fiber and a badass system and the seats were fucking awesome 6 way power (driver and passenger). dont forget about the seating room and huge trunk

I have no fondness for new Impalas, and I like 5g Preludes.

But that Prelude is horrible. It's probably been beat to shit mechanically, too.

And while I don't like Impalas, you obviously do, and that one is a pretty good deal. I see no real reason to dissuade you from it.

Both cars are front wheel drive and therefore less efficient that a RWD equal, and the Chevy's market value will drop like a rock. Prelude's may be sucky sports cars, but it's a Honda, you get a quality machine.
