I'm going to cover a bunch of countries in Asia (Japan, China, Thailand to name a few...) and need some help on what to bring.

So far, I know I'll bring:
    Somet Jeans
    2 pairs of Athletic Shorts
    Loopwheeler Hoodie
Purcell Sneakers (or should I bring a proper sneaker instead?)
    Teva Sandals

anyone got suggestions for t-shirts (thinking about the Nike loose drifit joints), walking shorts, and a button down that can withstand the elements and be washed easily?

Yeah, I actually meant Purcells. I was also thinking of ditching them half way and picking up something in Hong Kong if they get too dirty.

On second thought, my Somnets might be kinda uncomfy.

and if you think you will pass through one place twice, some hostels let you drop off gear and leave it with them. My buddy does this when passing though thailand, will leave his shit sitting for months at a time he said, nothing gets stolen either.

Wont need jeans for the southern asian countries like thailand, singapore, vietnam, laos ect. Even if you go out in thailand, vietnam ect shorts are acceptable.

Jeans you might only need to get into certain places in Hong Kong, China and Japan. Also if it is winter or heading into winter Japan and China get cold so your going to need jeans for there. Ive gotten away with only wearing jeans a t-shirt and a hoodie in Japan during winter (mostly cities like tokyo tho) if your heading up to northern island japan or to the alpine areas then you will want something to stop the windchill. It has also been known to snow in Tokyo too, but the buildings generaly stop the wind chill and a hoodie is fine.

Dont pack to much when backpacking, southern asian countries are extremely cheap for clothes and you can always buy a t-shirt or shorts if you need some for very little (under $10 US.)

General rule of backpacking is : pack everything you THINK you need, then empty it all out on to your floor and half it. Re do this atleast x2. Nothing sucks more than lugging around a huge amount of gear in hot weather.
