I spend a grand or more on a new lens, every element precisely engineered and hand assembled by jap virgins in a clean room, and on the end of? A 30cent piece of shitty plastic with a spring in it. With all of the time and money that Canon and Nikon spend on research, you'd think they'd put the extra buck in and make a lens cap that was worth a fuck. They don't even have to do it themselves, license Tamron's center grip lens cap, put a little rubber on the grip, ohaiiupgradedur plastic and make me not feel like an asshole for putting a cheap dildo grade plastic on the end of my baby.

Yeah, I agree, but I don't have too much trouble with the lens caps really. I mostly just take it off once, shoot all day, and then put it back on when I'm done.

What is everyone expecting, they are simple and seem to work, not to mention they are light weight...

the grill of a Veyron isn't supposed to go in your pocket while you drive it, though. lens caps often do.

Canon lenses are the absolute worst for one reason: Try putting one of those bastards on a lens with a deep hood (like a 135L) while the hood is attached. Impossible. :madfawk:

Fucking POS rim releases. They should be center releases like...ohhhhh...EVERY other manufacturer out there. Fuck it, I'm ordering Nikon caps.

they're obviously made for asians with tiny hands.

I just take the hood off when I'm not using it, though.. I'm always afraid the weight of the lens will bend/crack/snap the hood. :o

center pinches won't fit on some lenses, it was either my 24-70 or 16-35 that had too convex a front element, the center mechanism would hit the lens.
