I was thinking about getting a simple marlin lever action again for backpacking/camping/hiking and remember looking at one at Walmart last year for $300. (which apparently I should have bought right then and there) Went online just now to check and see if they had any in stock and jesus christ, it's like they doubled in price everywhere, what the hell.

I need to go by and see if Wally World still has that one I was looking at.

I'm finding walnut/blued 336's all over for around $350, they only ones that are double that are the stainless/laminate XLR's that came out a couple years ago.

Is the 308 Marline Express supposed to be pretty good? I remember reading a while back about it in one of the gun magazines I got in the mail, but that's it.

I can find marlin 30-30s for 200-250 at pawn shops all the time.

Lever actions have never had that many competitors so they don't go down in cost much, and with the 94 going away their value has gone up. Mossberg did just release one, it is only in 30-30 right now.

I love lever actions, I am trying to find a BLR in 308, a 94 and 336 in 30-30, a henry big boy and a 45-70. Maybe one in 357 too.

I still want a 336D, which is a essentially a guide gun chambered in .35 Rem.

They were a limited run of 1000 made especially for Davidson's and now they're hard to find and expensive :hs:
