MIL What the hell is a service number?

  1. I'm trying to get a copy of my 214 and they need my service number. I don't even know what the hell that is.

  3. nah it's not that. that's what i thought it was too. i guess if i don't know what it is, it probably doesn't apply to me. i may be able to get the form without it.

    yes thats true before the 70's it was a totally different number, but now it is you social security number. I remember b/c people always got yelled at in BC for not knowing what their service number is.

    that's an employee number or man number. they use it for documentation purposes.

    No such thing as a service number anymore, just ssn.
