    :dunno: as you can see there a weird light streak on then sun... im a noob as this and i tried many settings but it seemed i couldnt get rid of the weird light line in the sun area...

    reflection and blooming off the digital camera sensor

    dont' point your camera directly at the sun

    i did have a UV filter on it.... hope i didnt damage any thing...

    what hash brown said... you really cant take a photo like that... you can make the shutter speed faster... and make the aperture smaller... but then the water is black... you are just out of luck. You can sometimes do something creative with a gradiated density filter.

    I once took a picture of the sun and I got a pictue full of green pixles. It was awesome. I wish I had saved them :wtc:

    digital cameras often suffer from this abnomality called "vertical smear" whenever they were pointed at an extremely bright object. Old video cameras use to have this problem all the time. I've never seen one quite as pronounced as the smear in your pic though. Usually it's a thin line rather than a thick line.
