    You don't see a problem with a freshly rebooted machine using 1GB of ram on nothing? :confused:

    its how modern operating systems are, it will juggle memory as needed. stop measuring until you have a problem.

    You have less than 200mb being used by programs and 400mb by the OS. Total used is 600mb. Last time i check, that wasn't a GB.

    At any rate, its normal.

    Depending on the model, 256MB of memory could be diverted to the video card as well.

    Normal operation.

    OS X is a memory whore. Always has been and always will be. As others have said, don't worry about what's being used by what unless you're experiencing problems.

    exactly...not sure how 600mb = 1gb. :dunno:
