Is it the soap (mothers california gold car wash) or just bad water causing these? I thought it was from the car partially drying before I finished rinsing and got to drying by hand, so rinsed the whole car off, then re-rinsed each section before I dried it. But it still does it. Any suggestions?

Looks like you either aren't rinsing all the soap off or you have really hard water.

Wash early in the morning where its cool so that you can dry your car without rushing.
Get a bigger drying cloth so that it doesn't take as long
"Ring" out your drying cloth leaner
Buy a gal or two of ionized water and rinse your drying cloth once in a while
Soak your drying cloth in vinegar to rid of hard water deposits or buy a new one
And the #1 cure, use a Quick Detailing spray /w a MF towel soon after you wash dry.

What part of ontario are you in? I'm in London, and we have super hard water. The Mother's car wash was almost as bad for me.

I have some NXT car wash now, and it says that it has water softenning properties to it. I no longer have this problem.

I got it at UAP NAPA. With my discount it was $14.75 for 64 ounces. Not too bad compared to Canadian Tire prices for other car washes. But when I was at Wal-Mart in the USA, I got another jug for $5.93.
