What software plays avi files?

    Windows media player plays them just fine. If it doesn't, then that means you don't have the proper codec on your computer. Probably DivX, since that's what a lot of avi's are encoded in. Like Damir777 said, get the 2.0 alpha player from divx.com. It comes with the newest divx codecs and will most likely fix the problem.

    To play every possible video file format out with awesome quality I use a combination of these programs:

    1. BS Player
    2. ffdshow
    3. Nimo codec pack

    Divx 2.0 is cool, you might wanna check out Global Divx if your interested in a tiny program that doesn't use much resources.
