So Iv'e set up a few red hat boxes but it really doesn't take any knowledge at all to do so. It's as simple as installing a windows OS. I know the basic commands for linux but I really don't know very much at all other then that. What sort of things could I do that would give me some good experience on my red hat box? Any suggestions would be cool :)

    thanks

learn how to compile and install software...
also, just work on your system admin skills too, like rob said, set up apache, samba, etc and don't forget mysql and php, and do a little development too ;)

Good call sled, install some programs from tarballs, and even write some code of your own. Fire up CPAN and figure out how that works. (I hate perl modules) :sad2:
