i have an iBook G4 - my girlfriend's, she just upgraded to a macbook pro.

it's in great condition and it's exactly 2 years old. it literally sat on her desk and was used for celebrity gossip sites and lol cat pictures.

literally the only problem with it is that it has the video problem that a lot of G3's and G4's had...apparently the video chip on the logic board has faulty solder.
the only way to start the computer is to apply pressure to the ibook on the left side of the touchpad. once it starts up, it works perfectly.

apparently there's a "fix" that people do where they apply a lot of heat to the video chip to reflow the solder, and that makes it work again.

    so.

    what should i do?

    ebay it as-is?
    attempt the heat method?
buy a new logic board for $250...fix it..and then sell it?

best bet to find a broken ibook and get the logic board.

dropping $250 on a logic board is a bad idea, your'e not going to recoup that cost

reminds me of an xbox 360. unless you resolder it, just heating it up isn't going to fix it forever
