What is already in your arsenal? All three are mandatory purchases, btw.

    I have a complete lower

I plan on getting all three, just cant decide which to buy next.

    for uppers.. CMMG or RRA?

shotgun, will most likely be an 870

    .22 will likely be a marlin 60ss

    My 'arsenal' so far..
Bushmaster lower, dpms parts kit & 9mm semi-compact baby eagle

I say get the upper. Better than having a useless lower. Plus I think I'd rather have an AR as a HD weapon than a shotgun.

Less recoil, more magazine capacity, semi-auto, light weight (depending on what kind you build.)

There's lots of bad info about rifle rounds penetrating walls 34082398x worse than shotgun or handgun rounds, but in reality any round that is suitable for self defense isn't going to be stopped quickly by drywall.

I see.. I built the lower while I still could and figured I would wait a while to get an upper, but every day it gets harder and harder to see it like that.

What do you suggest for a moderately priced upper?

I'd get the upper and finish your AR first. Another recommendation for you to PM chakup and get a complete LMT upper. Great pricing and quality shit.

I have a Marlin 60. Not stainless, but it was $120 OTD, which is good. The only problem I have with it is that the paint in the chamber is pretty much gone and I've only shot 400 rounds through it. I don't quite know if that's a problem or not.

Its actually an SBR w/o a stock on it. Probably around 1000-1200 from tromix.
