Ok, I have narrowed it down for what my next purchase should be, currently I have:

    Rifles:
10/22 - fairly stock, will be upgrading this month sometime
    NEF .17 HMR
    AR15 - 16" Varmiter

    Shotgun:
    Mossberg 500A

    Pistols:
    Ruger MKii 22/45
SW Sigma .40 (Except for the trigger, I like it  )

Now I have come up with a few options and pro/cons for each

AK47 - Build it myself from parts
    Pros-
    Cheap (relativily)
    May be banned soon
    Get to build it myself
    Cons-
Have to find time to build it
Not that big into AKs (but would probably change it I had one
Parts kits seem to be dryin up (anyone got a good source)
Don't go rifle shooting (or where I can shoot them) as often

    AR15 Pistol in 9MM
    Pros-
Cool, and not too many have them
    May be banned soon
    9mm is not too expensive
    Can shoot at normal range
    Cons-
    Expensive
    9mm adds up with 32rds/mag

AR15 with all the evil features
    Pros-
    May be banned soon
    Shares ammo with current AR
    Cons-
    Somewhat expensive
    Range issue as with AK
    Already have 1 AR

HK USP 9MM - Good price at local gunshop
    Pros-
    Good price
Cheap and can shoot at local range
According to USP cult, very good gun
    Cons-
Probably wont be banned as quickly
Not that great for home defense (pansy 9mm :greddy: rite?)
I would become part of USP cult

So what is the best, or should I look at something else?

I'd do an AK build. Make sure you have access to all the tools though. You already have an AR. On the other hand I do hear 9mm ARs are fun.

    i second AK

you have a .22, a shotgun and an AR. youve got the basics covered so i'd go with an AK or a bolt gun if you have an need/use for that

if you already have an AR then I would say go with the AK as long as you have all the tools and the confience in your skills needed to built it.

I think I have all the tools I need for the AK

    Shop press
    O/A torch
    Mig welder
    Taps
    Anything else I need?

I would have to build a bending jig, anyone got plans for one?

Out of your list... I'd say the AK.

Otherwise all your rifles are varmint cartridges... I'd look for something in .308. Since you already have a semi-auto then I'd say a decent bolt gun & some glass... or if you really worried about a ban then get one of the basic Saiga .308 conversions.

Yeah, the biggest problem with the larger calibers is the lack of a local place to shoot. The rimfires I can shoot at the pistol range if I want to.

I may join the local private club (river bend) but the inital fee is steep. I was there as a guest last weekend and it is nice, a bunch of differnt ranges, skeet ranges, tons of space, etc.

If you just want to build one or two AKs, I'd just buy the 100% receivers. It will probably end up costing you more to bend the flats for one or two receivers if you don't have a jig than it will to buy 100% ones.
