so i was talking to this guy at the gym saturday before the fights...
he said the reason lots of these guys are doing poorly in the ufc is b/c they all used to juice, and now they cant.
he said shogun is gonna gas in the fight and forrest will win, i laughed at him.
it makes sense though....
they never tested them for roids unless the shows were in the US...
not saying all used roids but that could explain a lot of things...
when you juice and workout/train, you are an ANIMAL ....and supposedly when you stop juicing everything goes way down.
seems to be a reasonable assumption, that is if all of them were juice jockies.
It certainly is tough to compete steroid free when anyone can do so without consequence. I'm reminded of the Gomi vs Diaz fight now.
Even though your source is questionable, I had the same thoughts.
I hope they figure out a way to roid up and still pass those tests. Either that or go to k1. The fans deserve consistent fighters.
And funny how Randy knows the happens in the steroud circle.
Yeah, he probably used to do it too, long ago. And he probably knows lots of fighters who still do. To assume he does now, though, is stupid. Every fight of his is a title fight and is tested.
I made the same comment to my friends after watching the Shogun/Forrest fight...
I went out to dinner with the crew from my gym along with Erik Paulson Saturday night after our seminar. Erik also predicted Forrest winning, because Shogun wouldn't be on the huice.
so steriods make your cardio alot better?
Not directly, no. But they help quite a bit with your recovery time allowing you to train harder.
They allow you to work harder, and recover faster... so I guess it could, yes.
If they're not being tested, they can do some of the stuff Tour De France competitors do to boost their endurance, EPO, blood packing, etc.
Some anabolics do increase red blood cell counts as well.
sure, he's only 43 with the cardio of a 20 year old. i personally don't care one way or the other if he/other fighters use steroids or not, but i think it's an absolute fallacy to assume he's Randy "The All-Natural" Couture.
how so?? the guy has never abused his body, he has always taken care of himself, i dont think he ever drinks, im pretty sure he never did drugs....
he competes in ironman triathalons on the regular...
my dad is pushing sixty and he is in crazyy good shape.
its not like hes living a chuck lifestyle and still fighting the way he does.
yeah that makes a LOT of sense
in all fairness, decades of Olympic caliber wrestling is abusing your body.
I think randy roids and ive been saying it for awhile. not for performance reasons like sherk but more on a recovery level like what hermes did. I mean the guys in his 40s hes got to have a little something inbetween fights to keep him together from all the injuries
They don't test for hgh though.
I've said this many times before in here.. if you think most top caliber athletes are not on some form of performance enhancing drugs, then you are very naive. To compete and recover from all the stress that occurs at the level many of these athletes are at, they have to have a little help here and there.
I don't get why the masses think that steroids are poison. And these same people also think that an athlete that only puts healthy substances in their body for some reason woudlnt touch an anabolic performance enhancer or pro hormone. If done correctly, an anabolic cycle would yield great results for the athlete without any serious side effects to be concerned about.
yeah cause its obvious he doesnt win because of his great gameplans right?
I think once the pride fighters figure out how to get past the tests like UFC fighters they will be ok.
It will even the playing field again.
figure out? it's pretty simple, use short ester substances that have a short half life.
