Other than how many shots have been taken with it... are there any questions that I should ask before buying a used camera? :noes:

    ever dropped?
    ever serviced?
copies of service ticket? (Canon provides detailed summaries of work, I imagine Nikon and others do too.)
if you are talking about pro level body, then how was it used? (location/studio)
    what is included in sale?

Sounds good, I'll be sure to ask him.

This is the PM I got that didn't seem too terrible.

What do you guys think? Sounds reasonable. :dunno:

If it comes with a CF card full of naked JB pictures.

Battery condition in addition to everything Jonny said as well.

Sounds good, I had another guy offer me this...

Buydig has them new for 698.00 with the lens kit though.

How much of a benefit is the grip? Doesnt it fucntion as a battery as well...(I haven't done my homework :o)

$700 seems pretty high for a rebel/grip combo.

Yeah, I'd rather just buy a new one and pick up a Sandisk 1 gig for that price + free shipping. /done

But if could get ahold of a good 350D for 475.00, I think I'd be happy with that. :hs:

Got another bite on a Xti

I'd like to have an Xti - is it true that it seems people have issues with the 350D's AF feature?

Edit: Ahh, I misread it - too expensive...

2000 exposures isn't many. I've done over 1000 in the 3-4 weeks I've had my camera.

ask when was the last time the sensor was cleaned.

I saw a used 400D sell for $560 on fredmiranda.com not too long ago (body only). 350Ds go for $380-420.

I never had any issues with the 350D AF system. It did fine for both static and dynamic shots.

the only way I'd every buy an XT/XTi is with a grip... A buddy of mine bought an XT, and it just felt to unbalanced, but once he put a grip on it, it was like a complete different camera, it actually felt comfortable to hold. JMO of course... but 700 seems high for that combo.

I appreciate the feedback guys, I'm going for the 350D I mentioned earlier - I asked him everything mentioned and it all seems solid - just one last thing on asking him the cleaning history of the camera. Also if he could send me some sample pictures taken with the body/lens and such. We'll see how it turns out...

    Thanks again.:wiggle:
