Just curious, looking for some less expensive work to buy. I just bought my first house and I don't think my baseball and football posters are gonna make the cut upstairs. :wtc:

I have about 5 random 8x10's hung up in my apt, mostly landscapes and nature stuff (no frames though, cause im poor) and 1 panorama that is about 8 ft long of the continental divide.

Id like to print some new ones of some more recent stuff, but my printer is out of ink, I really need to go buy some more

I bought a wide angle shot of soldier field in black and white from a art store that was closing. 50% off, pretty bad ass picture.

My and my wife had some portriats professionally done and we have those hanging up along with a couple from our wedding. Some of her drawings/paintings are hanging up along with 2 pieces a friend of hers did (I think she got these as a gift). She has a semi-nude drawing she got from an artist for payment for modeling.

That, and except for a couple posters in the basement, the rest are photos I have taken.

We need a bigger house. We ran out of wall space to hang pictures.

I only hang my own work in my house. All matted and framed.

I have one room that dedicated to bridge shots, one that's all Ireland stuff, one series of shots going down a hallway that changes every season, etc.

The wife seems Ok with having an art gallery for a house, so I take full advantage...

no shots of the room, but here are most of the images I have printed in it:

Keep in mind that these scans were done and added to flickr waaaaay before I learned how to scan correctly and post process correctly....

But the good ones were all post processed for print, not web, so they don't translate perfectly to the internets.

Here's the only shot I have of one of em framed and on the wall:

jared_IRL: In the last pic, I see you have a light over the picture. Any details on this? You do the wiring inside the wall? What you did looks awesome. I don't have the balls to deal with a plaster wall and try to hook up wiring.

    Actually, this wall is plaster...

I cut a hole, ran new electric, and put an outlet behind the print. Then attached the light to the outlet.

It's all hooked up to a dimmer on the opposite wall. This way I can dim it to match or create the ambiance in the room...

It's pretty cool. I get lots of compliments on it...

Nice! Good idea putting the outlet behind the picture and setting up dimmer switches. I will keep this in mind for my next house...

you actually have an outlet behind that frame?

how thick/deep is the frame? i cant imagine something plugged in behind the frame....

or is it above the frame, by the light?

    cool concept, though.

yeah, an outlet behind the frame.

I changed out the plug on the light to a 'flat plug', and I used a recessed outlet so the outlet itself doesn't stick out.

For some reason, that made me laugh. I was going to insert the typical "she knows her place" joke, but I didn't want to offend you. :o
