To include police shootings, self defense, crime, etc...
I can't seem to find the answer.
I think there is a doj study on this. The large majority of those shot with handguns lived as I recall.
Well taking in consideration that the average criminal, or private citizen have very little shooting profficiency I would not put a lot of faith in statistics. Also most law enforcement types I've met/seen (that's a lot) are not much better.
I've beat this topic to death. Instead of studying theory, statics, marketing hype, and urban legends. Go out and get training, quality practice, and get the real skills that will give you the best chance to stop a threat.
How did you just twist that into a get training speech?
I'd really like to see how this stat compares to the mortality rate for stabbing victims.
