will discharge their weapons in combat do you think? i've always been curious about this.
has to be low ---- it would only really be Army or Marines infantry --- and the infantry is a small percentage itself.
it depends, theres no acurate percentage that can respresent everyone. the last rotation in my battalion (it's a support btn btw) all were in some deep combat directly in fellujah. admin, supply, air deilvery, motor-t. didn't matter who they were.
more will discharge themselves than their weapons
yes, was a pretty common occurance in OIF 1. every Marine is a rifleman first.
there are lots of soldiers doing combat patrols that aren't infantry. that's probably the reason for the CAB badge, although it looks like it is getting handed out for less than actual "whites of their eyes" combat.

Another thing is a majority of the attacks here are IED, or SVBIED's, that and the "pray and spray" attacks.
we get combat action ribbons instead, although i don't even know what the qualifications are anymore. i've heard getting shot at, shooting at, or being in a combat zone.
