Last night I arm wrestled a friend of mine. Just for fun, he thought he could win and he did.

I'm well aware that there is a lot of technique in it and for evenly matched individuals, technique will always be the deciding factor.

We are both the same height/weight/proportions except I lift regularly and have noticeably more muscle mass and he hasn't touched a weight in years.

I'm guessing that it uses mostly biceps/shoulders. Him beating me is somewhat troubling to me because I have fairly strong biceps and shoulders (225x3 seated military press, bent over rows with 115lb dumbbells for sets of 8) :dunno:

    80% technique 20% size.

my buddy is 150-160 out of shape stoner, who has beaten guys 170+ and in shape

and one guy that's probably 190 and in alot better shape due to weightlifting and football.

IF you know how to arm wrestle vs a guy who doesnt, you will win

if the guy is alot bigger then you, you will have to try but if u have the technique you will pull off a win.

He's lost against guys who know how to arm wrestle and in shape. but a huge majority he wins against.

which is funny cause he uses that to brag & how he is a good fighter and 'labels' peoples with his oversized wigger ring on his dominant hand :mamoru:

yet hasnt won a single fight.

Google it and most professional arm wrestlers will tell you bicep tricep strength has little to do with it. Hand and wrist strength is where its at. Forearms are very involved too.

Werd and werd. Way to easy to hurt yourself and almost a gauranteed cause of tendonitis if youre not really warmed up.

I would always get pissed off because skinny ass people that never work out could beat me but I know I am stronger than them.... I think it has something to do with my arms being so long, bad leverage or something... 6'4" ftl

i think longer is actually better.. they cant get over the top of you.. its like trying to push a tree down from the halfway point.. much easier to topple it over from the top

It's called leverage. Seeing as how your SN is golferdude, I would have expected you'd know this, as it's the same reason why some 130lb guy can outhit a 200lb+ guy. (other than the technique part which is helps too)

Step 1. Set up for arm wrestling trying to get your hand over the top of your opponent

Step 2. be the first to attack

Step 3. Kick opponent in nuts

    Step 4. Victory
