    I was just testing some settings on the dslr and since i'm still a noob i was wondering wut modes u shoot in depending on the situation?

    The kinda pics I am interested in takin would be mostly at night, shots of water, buildings certain city scapes type deal pics.. and since i just visited the high rez quality pics i'm interested in those as well, so now i guess panoramic pics are also something im interested in..

    there is just SO much to take in at once i'd appreciate any tips that you could spare.

    Depends on the scene..

    In canon land:
    if I CBF then P mode
    if im shooting a moving target usually Tv
    if im doing a group shot or portrait or something still usually Av
    if im mucking around at night with long exposures and a tripod M.

    Av generally. try to keep around f8 or so (unless i'm going for a shallow DoF of course), ISO 100, if shutterspeeds too slow I'll up the ISO,
    Tv for moving stuff..
    M on long night exposures

    I usually try to shoot in Manual mode unless I dont feel like taking my time to adjust the settings constantly. Then I switch accordingly.

    Av = aperature pri?
    Tv = shutter pri?

    I don't know shit about canons :o

    I primarily shoot action/auto so my lighting changes about 900 times in a set of pictures at 5fps so its usually shutter pri, If i'm doing still objects or just anything else its manuel

    :rofl: :bigthumb:

    If I'm shooting portraits then I'll go for Av unless I'm having shutter speed issues, then Tv or M; I only go for [_] if I'm just taking snapshots. :)

    CBF umm what?

    And why does canon use Tv Av, on my older sony P&S it had P A S M, A was aperture priority and S was shutter Priority, but canon mixes it up and confuses me..
