Is there a map site out there, like Google Maps, that will tell me the geographic coordinates of a location? This is very useful information and I can't believe it isn't more readily available. What's up with that?
    Thank you...

My company makes maps like that. The military controls the most accurate data, not surprisingly. The problem with the less-accurate data is that it's based on crude models of the Earth's shape (it's neither round nor oval, it's actually fairly lumpy, and I'm not talking about things as small as mountains), and so the best civilian maps based on a full-globe terrain model will inevitably be inaccurate by a dozen meters or more at any given coordinate.

Well, a dozen meter's accuracy is fine for me, considering I'm not planning to drop a bomb anywhere. Where can I find this map or any other of its kind? Can you recommend one that's online?
    Thank you...

You could use the Google Maps API to geocode an address into coordinates.

Or, if you just need a few addresses and aren't looking to put it into a web app, you could do a google search for "geocoding"

    Here's one: http://geocoder.us/
