I was checking out the prices (compared to other sites) and some of the knock-off cheapos were blatently obvious ($1,200 genuines compared to $100 fakes).

But there are some actual lenses for my camera that are the read deal. What are some 3rd party lenses that are decent to good quality?

i have never seen any deals on ebay. you are better off checking out bhphotovideo.com for used gear; or keh.com

rentglass.com is also selling used lenses. i haven't seen anything worth buying yet, mainly because they have more canon mounts than nikon, but im sure you could score a good deal if you keep checking their site.
