If I want extensive help with nutrition and lifting, what kind of specialist do I seek out?

Personal trainers at the gyms I've been to only know about toning and housewife type stuff.
Nutritionists I have talked to are all about eating super healthy and blah blah blah...

What kind of person do I need and where can I find him/her?

I am in the DC metro area for most of the summer, so any suggestions on gyms in the area that would cater to this would be helpful.

    Thanks.

What are you goals? As for nutritionists.. umm what the hell do you expect? You need to eat healthy if you expect to see any real gains.

I'm stuck between wanting to cut and wanting to bulk.

I am going to play major league (professional) lacrosse next year in the spring/summer--it has a once a week commitment that i can fit in around my job.

Anywho, weekend training and such starts in the fall. I basically have 2 1/2 months to start on a program that I can keep through the fall. I want to cut to lose the fat I've accumulated but I also want to bulk so I can't get pushed around the field.

It would help to talk to someone live to ask all of these questions and get a suggestion as to what route I should take...i think you guys would track me down and shoot me if I asked all the n00b questions I have.

As for the nutritionist--I'm saying if I wanted to bulk and told them I want to eat 5-6000 calories a day they go :ugh: On the flipside, if I say I want to cut they say it's unhealthy and I need 2500 calories a day....it's aggravating.

    1) Do either one or the other. Can't bulk and cut at the same time.1
    2) Read stickies and save your money

I know I can't bulk and cut at the same time...I just need to decide on which one given my goals and logistics, lol

From reading the stickies and such, I can't settle on a routine...there are too many! I don't even know where to start for anything!

    AHHHHH!!!!

How about someone here gives me 20 minutes of good phone time for 20 bucks paypal'd?

Well it all really depends on what you want to do for lacrosse. Myself I'd go big just because I have buddies who play and are big, but they are slow as hell.

What position you play? That could also help in your choice.

Tracey Kelusky does training at one of the gyms I go to. If you are in fact signed to a pro team why dont you ask to train with one of your teammates? If they're nice at all I'm sure they'd be happy to help.

    it's lacrosse...not basketball/football/baseball/what have you.

It's still an upcoming sport...shit, we use college lacrosse locker rooms and get paid only enough to compensate travel costs, etc.

you'd rather work with someone from the internet who has no qualifications over someone who works with pro athletes and used to be employed by Parisi Speed School, that's why i gave you a :ugh2:
