Looks alot like a rivet but they are all through this shitty Compaq that I have to fix and in places that obviously you wouldn't want to put rivets....=/

    Is this a Torx T-9?
Someone told me it could be a pressure screw (whatever that is....)

    :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

The ones with arrows are the ones i have to remove...they wouldn't set rivits there would they?

All I need to do is change a cd drive...it is held in by tabs tho and I can't get the tab on the otherside without taking the side of the case off... :dunno:

you shouldn't need to take off anything else besides the side panel (which you already have off) to put in another cdrom.

L:ooks like my damn compaq case. Ludelover is right, may be cramped but do-able.

try taking off the very front of the case and sliding it in through the front *shrug* if not just take out all the cables n'shit to give yourself a lil more room. see if the whole bay that holds all the cdroms comes out too.

Yeah those definitely look like rivets. That's why I hate all the store bought PCs. They were never meant to be dicked with after assembly at the factory so they don't care how hard it is to get around inside. Ludelover is probably right. the Front plastic bezel should come off somehow. Sorry I can't be of more help. Pretty much every model is different and it often take a lot of trial and error to figure out each case.

the front should unclip until compaq changed its style, but you shouldn't have to take the left side panel off the computer... you should be fine leaving it on..... but i dunno

Yeah...the front plastic came off and the drive slides out easy....stupid way to setup a case but once you figure it out it is pretty slick I guess....=/
