What does your instructor have you do?
Run laps, pushups/squats, hip movement drills.
Gymnastica naturel routines. They're for balance, body control and core strength. One of our purple belts picked up the routine while in Rio, and it's very similar to how we warmed up when I was in Sao Paulo. It's very difficult for beginners, but your conditioning picks up quickly doing that 3 times a week.
we start off with stretching every body part for like 5 minutes, then usually we count off by 2 and then 1 group doesh hindu squats while the other group holds pushup position, and then we switch off going 50,40,30,20,10. Followed by ~200 crunches and some pushups, then we do hip-escapes across matt for like 3-4 rounds
I usually kick a ball around for a bit and then the training group plays handball
If it was anyone but sammo, i would think he was kidding...
I have a good instructor, we do warm-up stretches, techniques and then free rolling
I just thought you might find that amusing
I posted this because we run laps then sprints then do pushups...then stretch. I'm a beginner so its killing me. i'm not conditioned well at all and last time, i didn't drink any water in the morning so i was fucked. class for me is at 11am.
stretch, jump rope, then light snatches into presses into squats then back into snatchs in one motion.
i havent been to the bjj class since we got a new teacher but our sambo is like laps, laps with medicine ball push movement, sidesteps out/in, sprints, BACKWARDS jogging with jabs without looking behind you.
man i fuckin hate warmups that kill.
same...i just want to grapple..not run laps and do pushupsand situps for 20 mins straight.
