What is wrong with whole milk?

    I use whole milk to make my protein shakes. I figure since I am bulking, i might as well go with whole milk over skim milk.


    What is wrong with it? It seems like most people go with skim milk even if they are bulking or water.

    i dont handle milk that well..so yeah protein + milk= bad gas :(

    thats the only reason for me...so if i do take protein with milk i'll do it before i go to sleep and the rest is with water :p

    maybe cus there's too much fat, and people would rather get their calories from something else when bulking.

    hmm i do get gas but i dont drink protein shakes before school anyways.

    i also get really loose poo sometimes.

    does using skim milk help with the gas?


    and is the fat from whole milk good or bad fat?

    if i were bulking i'm pretty sure since i've been fat my whole life i'd clean bulk as much as i could. whole milk is just so much right now since i'm cutting, i couldn't fathom it. i do 1%

    2 Types of milk that I have been drinking:

    - Mootopia -- It's a new brand that my local HEB has been selling (by the quart only). It's fairly expensive, so I use that sparingly, but as frequently as I can afford.

    *After reading that, turns out it is produced by HEB. Awesome.

    - Borden Plus Hi Protein. This stuff is $4.19 a gallon, but damn does it rock. I put this in every shake I make (Generally 2 cups milk, 1 scoop ON whey, 1 bigscoop Serious Mass)

    As to whats wrong with whole milk? Nothing I suppose. But its got unnecessary fats when compared to the protein it has. (Especially considering other milks on the market).

    that information is for a cup of ricotta cheese (whole milk) not just a cup of milk

    There's nothing really wrong with it... you need fat in your diet too, y'know?

    It's just that whole milk hurts my stomach pretty badly for some reason. Every time I drink it I feel like I'm about to give birth to a sea urchin. :coolugh:

    i use 1%, seems like a fair trade off. whole milk (4%) is yummy and all but all that fat, jeebus, i get enough fat elsewhere, so why not cut it out where its easy to?

    p.s. skim milk is nasty shit
