MIL What is the point of coins?

    And how and why do folks get them?

    You get a coin and put it in your drawer with all your other old pin on shit I guess?

    Our Company Gunny yelled at us for not appreciating coins like we should. Apparently the new generation doesn't appreciate the old traditions of the Corps.

    its a good way to remember your time in and where you have been, each coin is a good story.

    now you get them just for joining a new unit or its your bday, or the unit was too lazy to process real paperwork for the award you or your soldiers deserved

    They used to mean a lot more. Nowadays every unit gives em out.

    Even though I was a picli, I think the RCR coin is the best nowadays
